Since 1986, the Child Abuse Prevention Program (CAPP) has reached over 400,000 New York City
school children and made them aware of their right to be safe.

CAPP's mission is to ensure that all children receive their basic right to safety so that they can have the opportunity to grow and thrive. Teaching children to recognize resist and report physical and sexual abuse helps to keep them safe and works to end the cycle of abuse. By giving children a chance to feel loved and valued, they can embrace their childhood and achieve their fullest possible potential. Each year more than 30,000 children participate in the Child Safety Workshop, approximately 200 families are referred for assistance and 130 abuse cases are reported to child protective services, a combination of services that inspires a brighter future for children and their families.
